DeMarcus Formbly has been elected the 63rd National President of Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity. His election gives the 102-year-old organization its first Black national president.
The LaGrange, Georgia, native was elected during Alpha Delta Gamma’s 95th National Convention. Delegates from chapters and alumni associations across the country selected him.
Formbly will serve a two-year term through 2028. He will oversee national initiatives, collegiate chapters, alumni groups, and the fraternity’s strategic direction.
DeMarcus Formbly Takes National Leadership Role
Formbly’s new role follows years of service within Alpha Delta Gamma. He joined the fraternity while studying at LaGrange College.
He became a member of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter as an undergraduate. He later served as National Student Representative and National Executive Vice President.
His election also marks his sixth straight year on the fraternity’s national leadership team. That experience helped prepare him for the organization’s top elected position.
Alpha Delta Gamma Elects Its First Black National President
Founded in 1924, Alpha Delta Gamma has operated for more than a century. The fraternity emphasizes brotherhood, scholarship, service, school spirit, and spiritual development.
Formbly is now the first Black person to serve as the organization’s national president. His election adds a new chapter to the fraternity’s leadership history.
The position also carries responsibility across the organization. Formbly will work with national leaders, alumni, and undergraduate members during his term.
Formbly Brings a Focus on Leadership and Growth
Throughout his fraternity service, Formbly has focused on leadership development. He has also supported chapter growth and alumni engagement.
His plans include strengthening the member experience and supporting expansion efforts. He also wants to increase alumni involvement across the organization.
Additionally, Formbly wants Alpha Delta Gamma to keep developing young men. His vision centers on leadership, service, and opportunities for undergraduate members.
LaGrange College Graduate Reaches National Fraternity Leadership
Formbly graduated from LaGrange High School in 2012. He later graduated from LaGrange College in 2022.
His election also gives LaGrange College another connection to Alpha Delta Gamma’s national leadership. He is only the second national president from the college since the fraternity’s founding.
That connection has added significance for the LaGrange community. His achievement highlights the role of the college’s Alpha Epsilon Chapter within the fraternity.
DeMarcus Formbly Looks Ahead to His Two-Year Term
Formbly said his election carries a responsibility beyond the distinction itself.
“It is an incredible honor to serve the fraternity that has given me so much,” Formbly said.
He said his focus will remain on building upon previous leaders’ work. He also plans to invest in members and support the fraternity’s future growth.
As his term begins, Formbly says the work continues.
“The work doesn’t begin with this election—it continues,” he said.
He will work alongside the National Council, Board of Directors, alumni, and undergraduate members. Together, they will guide Alpha Delta Gamma through 2028.
