Ghana’s youngest art star secures global spotlight with Guinness World Record
Ace‑Liam Nana Sam Ankrah is only two years old, but he’s already captured the world’s attention. He now holds the Guinness World Record as the Youngest Male Artist, earning the title at just 1 year and 152 days.
This achievement makes him the first Ghanaian to ever receive this title. The record was confirmed after he took part in an official painting exhibition in Accra from January 18 to 20, 2024.
Record attempt required art exhibition and real painting sales
To qualify for the Guinness title, Ace-Liam had to do more than just paint—his artwork had to be shown in a public exhibition and sold. His mother, Chantelle Eghan, helped organize the event at the SoundOut Premium Art Exhibition in Accra.
At least nine abstract paintings created by Ace-Liam were on display and sold to attendees, including art lovers from the U.S. and the U.K. Ghana’s then-First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, also received one of his pieces.
Recognition at British Parliament celebrates his global impact
Ace-Liam’s record-setting talent earned him even more global attention. In June 2025, he was honored as a Global Child Prodigy in Art at the British Parliament.
The event, held at the Members’ Dining Room in the House of Commons, celebrated 100 of the world’s most gifted children across different fields. Ace-Liam stood out as the youngest visual artist among them.
Painting since six months old with a growing global fanbase
According to his mother, Ace-Liam started painting at just six months old. His works are abstract, full of color and emotion, and now form part of private collections across continents.
His talent echoes that of previous record holder Dante Lamb, who set the record in 2003 at age three. But Ace-Liam surpassed that by a wide margin, setting a new global standard for young artists.
A proud moment for Ghana and for African child prodigies
Ace-Liam’s achievement adds to a growing list of Ghanaians making their mark on the global stage. His success has inspired many across the continent and beyond.
“I’m just grateful,” said his mother. “This is not just about a record. It’s about proving that Ghanaian children can dream big and shine bright.”
The Global Child Prodigy Awards’ founder, Prashant Pandey, added, “Every child we honor proves that age is no barrier to extraordinary achievements.”
