Wyevetra & Jarriel Jordan Sr. Purchase Historic Fort Washington Property
A married couple has achieved a historic first for African American business ownership in Maryland. Wyevetra and Jarriel Jordan Sr. recently purchased the Fort Washington Professional Park, becoming the landmark facility’s first Black owners since its founding.
The property was renamed the Fort Washington Business Complex after the August 2022 acquisition. It currently houses the Jordans’ luxury real estate brokerage, The Home Team Realty Group LLC, among other thriving companies.
By leading the charge to expand Black influence in business services, the Jesup, Georgia natives aim to uplift Prince George’s County’s economy. Their family-oriented team ethos also sets an inspirational example.
Trailblazers Strengthening Local Black Wealth
The Jordans have deep ties to the Fort Washington community spanning over 40 years. Their accomplishments come after decades of public service and entrepreneurism.
“If you want something truly dynamic and truly that’s going to empower the community and yourself, you have to put a little skin in the game,” Wyevetra Jordan remarked on their big risk.
Her husband Jarriel Jordan Sr. added, “We wanted to be the ones to show folks you can do this if you are grounded and have a lot of structure.”
Along with real estate, they founded the non-profit Jacob’s Ladder Youth Foundation to provide community support services. Their recent history-making purchase furthers their mission to create sustainable Black wealth.
Next-Generation Leaders Carrying the Torch
The Jordans note that setting an example for their son Jarriel Jr. and daughter Domanique Bradley inspires their drive. Their children also hold executive roles directing operations at the complex’s firms.
This tight-knit and qualified family team offers a promising glimpse into Prince George County’s future business landscape led by the next generation. Their Fort Washington Business Complex serves as a home base propelling their strengths.
The Jordans overcame naysayers through dedication to bring their vision to reality. Now the property’s transformation mirrors the broader possibilities ahead for Black business owners pursuing greatness in Maryland.
