Mickey Guyton is making waves in the country music industry as the first Black woman to host the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and perform at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). This fall, the trailblazing artist is set to bring her groundbreaking sound to Wisconsin, captivating audiences with her powerful vocal performances.

From the White House to the DNC Stage

Guyton’s journey in the music industry has been marked by a series of historic achievements. After signing with Capitol Records Nashville, she made her debut at an all-star concert at the White House, which was captured by PBS. In 2021, she became the first Black female solo artist to earn a Grammy nomination in a country category, performing her song “Black Like Me” during the awards ceremony.

Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Change

Guyton’s impact extends beyond her musical prowess. In 2021, she made history as the first Black woman to host the ACM Awards, and in 2022, she performed the national anthem at Super Bowl LVI. Throughout her career, Guyton has used her platform to amplify the voices of other Black artists and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the country music industry.

Captivating Performances at the DNC and Beyond

Guyton’s powerful presence was on full display at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, where she delivered a stirring performance of her unifying anthem “All American.” In an interview with CNN, Guyton expressed her love for her country and her excitement about the possibility of seeing a woman become the President of the United States.

Bringing Her Groundbreaking Sound to Wisconsin

This fall, Guyton is set to bring her groundbreaking country music to Wisconsin, with a stop at the Majestic Theatre in Madison on October 22nd.
