Black Mirror Comic Arrives Just in Time for Free Comic Book Day
For the first time ever, Black Mirror is entering the comic book world. The debut comic is launching as part of Free Comic Book Day 2025. Fans can grab a copy of the San Junipero adaptation completely free at participating comic stores nationwide.
Over 70,000 free copies have been printed for this release. This exciting move introduces a fresh way to enjoy Black Mirror stories—through graphic novels packed with suspense and sci-fi twists.
San Junipero Kicks Off a New Line of Black Mirror Graphic Novels
The first comic is based on San Junipero, one of the most beloved episodes in Black Mirror history. The story takes readers into a nostalgic virtual world filled with romance, memory, and choice. The comic uses stylized black-and-white layouts for now, with a full-color version coming later.
Creators Charlie Brooker, Neil Gibson, Samantha Dodge, and Flavio Soares have captured the emotional feel of the original episode. Although actor likeness rights were not secured, the characters come to life through expressive artwork and storytelling.
Twisted Comics Takes the Lead with Graphic Novel Adaptations
British publisher Twisted Comics is producing the Black Mirror comics. The company is known for science fiction thrillers that end with clever twists—making them the perfect match for this project. Neil Gibson, founder of Twisted Comics, is playing a key role in this release.
According to early reports, the next episode to be adapted will be USS Callister, another fan favorite. While no official date has been announced, sneak peeks of artwork hint at what’s to come. Gibson will also be doing a special signing at Forbidden Planet in Central London.
