Octavia Morgan’s Clean Fragrance Brand Joins Ulta Beauty as a Prestige First

Octavia Morgan Introduces Ulta Beauty’s First Black and Woman-Owned Prestige Fragrance Brand with a Clean, Science-Driven Touch

Octavia Morgan’s Fragrance Brand Joins Ulta Beauty

Octavia Morgan is making waves in the beauty industry with her clean, unisex fragrance line. Her brand, Octavia Morgan, is now the first Black and woman-owned prestige fragrance company to be featured at Ulta Beauty. This marks a major milestone in the world of high-end scents, bringing more diversity and inclusivity to the market.

Morgan’s fragrances are designed for people with scent sensitivities. Unlike many commercial perfumes, her products avoid harsh chemicals while maintaining rich, complex aromas. “I started this journey with the brand in 2018,” she said. “I developed fragrance sensitivity. When I would spray my fragrances, I would get headaches and nausea, and my skin would react.”

A Clean, Science-Backed Approach to Fragrance

Morgan’s background in science played a huge role in shaping her brand. She is a registered nurse, and her grandmother was an herbalist, giving her a deep understanding of botanicals and natural ingredients.

“I had a working knowledge of how to work with botanicals, plant extracts, and different fragrance materials,” she explained. “So, I started to research and took classes.” This knowledge allowed her to create high-performing scents that are free from harsh chemicals.

Her first four fragrances were an instant hit. She launched through pop-up events in Los Angeles, where she quickly sold out. Her best-selling scent, Dark Rose, blends pink peppercorn, plum, rose, cumin, vanilla, patchouli, and labdanum.

Ulta Beauty Partnership and Growth

Ulta Beauty recognized Morgan’s brand early on through its MUSE Accelerator program, which supports diverse beauty entrepreneurs. Now, her fragrances will be available in select stores across key U.S. markets. By March, the brand will expand to 600 more locations through Ulta’s “Sparked” display, which highlights innovative brands.

“Ulta Beauty will bring significant value to our brand,” said Morgan. “It will help expand visibility, build credibility, and increase customer reach.”

Jessica Phillips, Ulta Beauty’s vice president of merchandising, praised the brand’s sophisticated approach. “Octavia Morgan immediately captured our attention with its dedication to clean, thoughtful formulations. This launch reinforces our commitment to inclusive brands and innovation.”

Expanding the Brand’s Reach

Morgan is not stopping with Ulta Beauty. She has big plans for the future, including retail expansion and new product lines.

“What’s next for us is retail expansion, product line growth, and increasing our customer base,” she said. “We want our brand to have more visibility and continue to scale.”

Her journey from experimenting in her kitchen to landing in one of the largest beauty retailers shows the power of determination, expertise, and innovation in the fragrance industry.
