Kathy Chaney is now the executive editor of The Times of Northwest Indiana. She is the first Black woman to hold this important position. Before joining The Times, she was the executive editor for YR Media, a role that focused on youth-centered stories. Additionally, she served as deputy managing editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, where she managed breaking news and staff development. Her earlier experience includes positions as managing editor for EBONY magazine and the Chicago Defender.
