Ciprian-Matthews, an Emmy Award-winning journalist, has been a trailblazer throughout her illustrious 30-year career at CBS News.

A Veteran Newsroom Leader
Prior to her historic appointment, Ciprian-Matthews served as the executive vice president for newsgathering at CBS News. In this role, she oversaw the network’s global newsgathering operations, including all domestic and international bureaus.
Her extensive experience and leadership have been instrumental in shaping CBS News’ coverage of major events, from presidential elections to natural disasters and international conflicts.

Ciprian-Matthews’ achievements have been widely recognized within the industry.
In addition to her Emmy Award, she has received an Alfred I. duPont Award for CBS News’ coverage of the Newtown tragedy and an Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in 2018.
Most recently, the Imagen Foundation, an advocacy organization for Latinos in media, named her one of the 2023 Most Influential Latinos in Media.
